"Getting married is not about accepting your spouse the way s/he is. But together, mutually make each other to be both better".
My husband said that to me a few days after our wedding day. I was pretty sure that my husband himself didn't recognize his words as 'something heavy' but I realized that those words were just very powerful for both of us.
Now, it's been a year since he married me. Sure, we've gone through those dramatic newly wed syndromes and experienced lots of happy moments. But until now, we still try to find the best pattern to take care of each other every day. Because marriage is sometimes about learning. Everyday. To make our days more valuable. To make each other fall in love again and again. And the most important, to hold the commitment.
On our anniversary I didn't prepare anything. My goal was just to push him to buy a pair of shoes because my husband is a very picky man. It's often complicated to just pick him food or clothes. Hahaha.... So, I didn't expect him to prepare anything either. But, in the morning as I checked my message, he sent me a video (he even made several versions, Oh God!). A very sweet and touching sequence of our pictures together and some sweet quotes like 'you complete me', 'home is wherever I'm with you' or 'every love story is beautiful but ours is my favorite'.
He added the back song of Charity Vance's Two Birds and Tangga's Tak Kemana-Mana. About that 'tak kemana-mana' song was his very favorite song. When the first time I heard it, I thought he wanted to convince me that he'd always be by my side as I always worried about being left by the one I love. But, then again, it was just a song. I just have to enjoy it not to over think. About the quotes, since my husband isn't an expressive person, I think those quotes has made me fly to the seventh sky.
Anyway, this package made me cry. Of course, I cried on my own. I never be able to cry in front of him. Oh, and sing. I'm not good at crying nor singing in front of him. I don't know why.
And one thing I'm sure about, I care about him more, I appreciate him more, and of course my love grows stronger. Another 'alhamdulillah' is the only expression I have now :)
